Artist: Young Renz
Album Review: The Acceptance Letter
Release Date: 2.14.12
Conscious rapper Lorenzo "Young Renz" Moody shows his hunger for success in his latest album, "The Acceptance Letter." The creative layout was surprising (in a good way). The introduction immediately captured my attention. Renz adds poetic introductions, short speeches and classical music in the midst of songs, making them unpredictable. I find this album to be one that I would play over and over again. Circle Music Group has members who are all so very different in their styles and personality and mesh so well as a group. Moody obviously speaks on topics that are important to him and can be considered controversial to some. Although I love them all, I find that Almighty, Young, Black Democrats & Don't Let Me Go stand out to me the most personally. The catchy tunes are stained in my mind. The young and talented man has something positive to say and not only to the youth. His rhymes include controversy, politics and relevent economic issues, creating a very broad audience. The Acceptance Letter goes deep into places most rappers don't seek to venture. This "feel good" music has the potential to touch many hearts and minds. Young Renz's outspoken and adventurous personality shines brightly through this album. The fans are looking forward the music that is yet to come.
