FREE's WRITE

Freewrite

I have to admit that it took me over the course of several years to finally figure out that Accounting was not a major I should have not gone into. I convinced myself at 16 that it was my passion because of my strong liking of math. Being a math major would have meant that I wanted to be a math teacher, which I never wanted to be.  My undiscovered talent was writing. I had countless journals and notebooks full of my work beginning at 12 years old. I would write song choruses and free writes about love, life and my plans of future success. My plans mostly involved attending an HBCU and studying Journalism. I did get into and attended my first choice university although my major was Accounting.  It has been a long and tough journey as a young female but God has lead me into these troubling situations for specific reasons that I will not question. I am happy to know that I recognized my passion and natural talent. I also have to admit that the members of Circle Music Group played a huge part in me getting back into writing; they gave me a lot to write about.  This blog is only the start of something legendary. These dream chasers I support and encourage will have all the good fortune they have acquired and more. The fan base obviously supports the team as it continually grows. I hope to eventually create a book out of this blog and use it along with my resume as a physical copy of my sample writing but also as a personal keepsake. The motto I associate with CMG is, “Let the Stars Look up at You.” The moment when they get everything they worked so diligently for will be an unforgettable one.
The accomplished feel of creating an entire music blog has been incredibly fun and rewarding. I’ve definitely been enjoying myself the entire way. I have also expanded and created three other working blogs that are slowly but surely receiving acknowledgements. These passionate and future music moguls are receiving more recognition as well. On Thursday October 18, Pizzle along with the team got the chance to open up and perform with Rockie Fresh of Rick Ross’ recording label Maybach Music Group at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Although I could not be there, I have no doubts that the show was exhilarating. The aspiration of a dreaming independent music artist is a force that can shake this world. Currently, I am anxious to hear Kiara DuPree’s new EP that releases soon. She also has an upcoming performance on October 28 at The Miramar in Milwaukee. Contact her @KiaraDuPree on Twitter for more information on purchasing tickets. Mikey V & Hardaway are also working to put out new projects that will release soon as well. Pizzle’s forthcoming “Depreciated Art” will also be available the moment it reaches perfection. For any upcoming shows, contact any member for more information. There is no doubt that the popular producers of Elusive Orkestra will be a part of most or all of these projects.

It has been almost one month since #ATNPL was released and all members received some absolutely amazing love and support for the new mixtape. It has become a favorite to many. There are hundreds of streams and countless downloads. The sleepless nights showed itself extremely prominent because the five star project was flawless, from vocals to impressive lyrical ability and intricate production.

All in all, I am a proud supporter, promoter and writer for the Circle Music Group. I hope for nothing but favorable outcomes.

Sneak Peak: The Singer MikeyV

More About MikeyV

I had the pleasure of asking a few in depth questions to CMG member, MikeyV. Born as Michael Dorsey on November 30, he has enjoyed the art of singing for well over a decade. He uses his great vocals to sing on just about every CMG album or mixtape currently out and in the making. Singing alongside with female CMG singer Kiara DuPree, helps to bring a well-rounded sense into the group. His latest vocals are heard on Autotune&Punchlines available on 10ToesDown.net. Mikey grew up around fellow CMG members Pizzle, Dooch & Hardaway, proving the roots of brotherhood run deep. His melodic tone of rhythm and blues is a perfect special spice that CMG has.

I asked Mikey:

How would you describe the feeling of performing or being in the studio?

Mikey: Music is my life so when performing or at the studio I feel at home

How hard do you feel it is to make a name for yourself in Milwaukee as an artist?

Mikey: I feel like it's not just in Milwaukee; hard work goes for everywhere, so if you don't have a name then nobody knows you so nobody will listen!!!

Where do you feel CMG can go in the future?

Mikey: We are going to be exactly where we want to be! I was always told you receive from the game what you put in. We give our best, so the best is what we gon' get !!!

Has being a part of CMG changed you in any way?

Mikey: Being with CMG hasn't changed me in no way. I've been around them my whole life, this is everyday to me!!

If you could choose anyone to collab with CMG, who would you pick?

Mikey: If I had the chance to collab with anybody, it would be Ryan Leslie

Currently, Mikey is continuously working on putting his best foot forward towards his future music and trying everyday to be better than he was yesterday. He gives nothing but his all in every project he works on. The fans want to hear more from MikeyV!
