Cheers to New Beginnings..

I cannot show my gratitude enough for the support I have received for my first blog along with my others. I can only do what I love. It has taken constant struggle to come back to my first love of journalism. I am ecstatic to have gotten back into the mode of writing so I am forever thankful for that. I have many projects coming my way and I strongly believe that 2013 will be a year to bring more blessings than ever. It is very true that just faith the size of a mustard seed moves mountains. So I keep the faith while enjoying being a full time dreamchaser.

Besides my readers, I am appreciative of The Regime for lighting the fire under me and bringing me back to life. The resuscitation was much needed. This year will be the year to remember. I happen to know firsthand that things ARE going to happen this year. So once again thank you, raise your glass and let's toast to another beautiful and fulfilling new year. Stay tuned for more.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Get To Know Pizzle..

The natural born hitmaker has quite a story to tell. From his first album to Depreciated Art, we all have grown to love Pizzle from the first track we've ever heard. He uses intricate production in very track and intellect in every set of lyrics. Young & Talented, he is striving for nothing but the best for him along with his musical partners. As a positive role model in the music industry, he represents a true mogul in the making. Pizzle's work ethic is astounding and it shows in every project. With the release of the recent CMG mixtape, ATNPL, he is already in the making of Insomnia 2 and Depreciated Art. Other members of CMG are still working on new projects as well. As an artist and devoted father, the community needs a good hearted and incredibly talented person like Pizzle.

How did CMG come about? Who is the mastermind behind it all?

Pizzle: I kinda put CMG together. I knew a few guys around the city who I felt were lyrically talented and thought it would be dope to put together a group where each artist would stand out. Not just a group with an apparent standout artist and just a bunch of guys rapping just to make up a label.

How important is the success of your team members?

Pizzle: It's very important. Any success gained by any of us individually is an advancement for us as a collective.

Although you have made songs with other locals artists, how selective are you in choosing who to work with?

Pizzle: I'm very selective. I try not to oversaturate myself.

How long have you been pursuing music? Do you plan to be a performer forever?

Pizzle: I released by first studio album at 14, so about 10 years seriously pursuing music. And not forever, I hope to become succcessful enough though that I can remain in the music business forever, running a label or something in that field.

Who you you say is your "music idol" in the mainstream? Who would you love to work with?

Pizzle: Kanye West. To both questions.

Where exactly do you see yourself and/or CMG as a whole in the next year?

Pizzle: In 2013, I think we all will go back to investing in our individual advancement. This year we kind of dedicated our effort to ATNPL but we all know it's hard to get on as a group. We have faith that when one of us gets in though, there will be a domino effect. Kind of how Kendrick Lamar buzzed hard and the rest of TDE also gained their own followings because of that .

What is your number one goal in this industry? What all do you hope to gain from the success of being an artist?

Pizzle: I want to be one of the greatest artists of all time. Any genre, I just want to be really influential and have my story be heard.

Would you describe the feeling of performing and hearing your songs on the radio to be of the same adrenaline rush?

Pizzle: I love to perform & shows help me gain supporters so I try to get as many gigs as possible. I feel like anytime something major happens in my career, it is just a stepping stone. I'm always looking forward to the next big event in my timeline. So I guess I would describe the feeling as....like a "yeah, that's dope, now how do I capitalize off of this?" kind of attitude.

Do you feel that when you are signed to a major record label anything will change?

Pizzle: Just the attention.

As an underground artist in the small city of Milwaukee, do you feel have any strong competition from other local artists?

Pizzle: I really wouldn't consider it competition. I would like to look at them as like...teammates. It would be ideal for all of us make it and create a name in the game for the city.

Is there anything about the entertainment industry that intimidates you?

Pizzle: Just dealing with the negativity. But I'm getting better at handling it already.

What are you currently working on planning to release? How do you plan to bring something different than past album/mixtapes?

Pizzle: Insomnia 2 and Depreciated Art. And I wouldn't say I'm bringing anything dramatically different. Instead I'm aiming to improve upon what people have grown to appreciate from me. If it ain't broke don't fuck wit it, type sh*t lol.

A Cordial Conversation with Jae Ace

His clean cut, poetic voice mesmerizes us all. The candid demeanor stands out in every track. When you listen to Jae Ace's music, you are able to escape out of your reality and into his; you feel as if he speaks to you directly. You can put the headphones on, close your eyes and allow the songs to take your through a new journey. Portrait of Hours is a hand held guide by Jae Ace. He never holds anything back and gives you his all. Can the music really get any better?  Let's talk!

BBCs THIS SATURDAY FOR THE ATNPL SHOW, BE THERE!!

Is it difficult to be so open about your personal grief?

Jae Ace: Not at all, I feel every man goes through different situations and sometimes holding in our thoughts could be the worse thing we could possibly do. So I make sure I never bite my tongue in my music. Whether bad or good, I always speak my mind and hope to reach those going through the same situation.

What do you feel you bring to CMG?

Jae Ace: I’m the big brother in a sense. The oldest group member in age and as far as our music I bring a variety of things. I make my music based on my mood, and that brings a lot of different styles out of me. I bring my story, and my talents deliver them however they feel.

People have told you that you are "the greatest." How do you react and/or what does it mean to you?

Jae Ace: First off it humbles me. My first reaction is to thank whomever the person may be because it takes a lot for a person to say that to someone else. To me it means I’m the best I could be, because I am a firm believer that no one man is better than any other. I just appreciate being idolized by someone else because that’s a great accomplishment.

Do you find yourself in competition with your musical brothers when you create songs together?

Jae Ace: Never. Anytime I do a song I never intend to compete lyrically. I aim to make the song the best it can possibly be. I feel I will always hold my own. This also holds true with every member of my group.

You speak a lot about your family in your lyrics; Is it safe to say that family is of high value to show to your fans a humble/human side to you? How important is it to express that side?

Jae Ace: It’s the most important thing to me because when a lot of people go out and chase their dreams they fall into a world so corrupt that they forget what’s most important. Family is everything. Loyalty to them is a must.

Describe the feeling of recording versus actually performing.

Jae Ace: Recording is WORK!!! Lol, honestly it's not too fun…Performing is fun and it gives you the opportunity to vibe with your fans.

At what point do you feel you'll reach the ultimate success?

Jae Ace: Honestly I can’t say. Success is measured different with every man. I just want to be able to help provide a better future for me, my team, and all of our families… after that, I’ll change the world!!!

How do you react to someone telling you that your inspirational lyrics have changed their life or improved their day?

Jae Ace: I take that to heart. That’s what artists live for. The moment when we change someone elses life in a positive way.

What can your fans expect from #LearnU that they didn't get from Portrait of Hours?

Jae Ace: A more fun side of my music, with a lot more punchlines… lol

If you weren't into music, what field do you suppose you'll be in?

Jae Ace: I’ll probably be helping in the community at our neighborhood center, or coaching a high school basketball team.

An Interview with Young Renz

"They never thought that I could do it, now I'm here embracing it all. But soon as you think they love you, they turn around and don't trust you; they praying, waiting for you to fall."
 ~Renz

Renz's rough voice immediately captured my attention. The Acceptance Letter is definitely memorabilia for any connoisseur of music. He talks politics, economics, life, love but what means the most to CMG Artist Young Renz? We only know what we hear. Judging the music alone would be inaccurate; to get a right answer, the question must first be unbiased. A deeper look into Renz is only appropriate. So, let's see what Renz has to say..

What are you currently working on?

Renz: I’m working on another mixtape but more importantly I’m working on promotion. I’m tryna be everywhere.

Do you feel that The Acceptance Letter was a success?

Renz: If by success you mean dope music. I feel it was the best music I ever made collectively. I’m not gonna let it die and everybody forget about it. I’m gonna be pushing that till the majors hear it.

Your fans get a jist of your personality and skills in your last album. How do you plan to step it up in your next project?

Renz: More of the same. Only difference will be instead appealing to all situations, on my next project you're gonna hear more of what I go through directly and what’s important to me.

You have an impeccable bond between you and your team  members, how do you plan to keep it that way as more success comes?

Renz: [As] long as we all on the same page our bond never gonna be broken.

When did you realize you have the talent to touch hearts through music?

Renz: When I realized I could touch hearts in real life.

You sometimes speak about relevant economic and political issues. Are those topics that interest you the most when you choose to make a song?

Renz: Those issues are important to me when I’m not making music. Talk to anybody who know me they’ll tell you that.

Where do you find inspiration when you're in your writing mode?

 Renz: My life.

You are currently a Political Science major, why have you chosen to explore that field?

Renz: Because you can’t think big with a small mind. You gotta know what the elite know in order to live good and truly make a difference.

Do you currently have a music mentor that you gain any knowledge from that supports you?

Renz: No. CMG.

What exactly do you hope to learn in this entertainment world?

Renz: I don’t wanna learn anything. I just wanna influence.

Besides the exposure and fame, why do you want to be a part of the music industry?

Renz: To make other people get the feeling I do when I hear music.

Passion and enthusiasm is definitely evident here. It helps to get a good feel for an artist when you know more about their personal life. Renz's humble soul will allow success to follow him, so don't blink! Hungry underground music has a distinct flavor that it leaves in all of the mouths that listen. Check out the latest Album, The Acceptance Letter on http://www.audiomack.com/album/young-renz/the-acceptance-letter and also check Renz out on the CMG new mixtape ATNPL available on 10ToesDown.net.

Don't forget to catch Renz on November 17th at BBCs for the ATNPL Show!!
